First Prosthetic Leg Donation Through CHF:
In 2020, we were distributing grocery materials to differently-abled people in a village in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. There, we met Mottaiyandi, a middle-aged landless farmer. He told us that he had lost his right leg many years ago due to a non-healing ulcer.
Since then, he had been earning a meagre income, working in the fields to support his family. When we met him, he was using a very old prosthetic leg, which was causing him severe discomfort and pain and making it difficult for him to carry out his day-to-day agricultural work.
We thank you for your generous support, through which we were able to provide him with a new and suitable prosthetic leg, fulfilling his request and requirement.
This is our very first prosthetic leg donation at CHF and so Mottaiyandi will be very special to us. Since Catherine went through an amputation of her leg, and later the process of learning how to walk again with her prosthetic leg, we know firsthand the pain and challenges faced by amputees.
