In the month of April and May, we had a wonderful time organising the “Beat the Heat” campaign, which aims to provide relief to people amidst the scorching heat. As a part of this campaign, we served fresh, cold buttermilk to the people on the footpath outside Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai.
Through our campaign, we were able to serve around 400 people and their relatives. We distributed the buttermilk and fresh fruits street by street around the hospital. The people were overjoyed to receive them in the midst of the summer heat. They brought bottles and utensils to take the buttermilk, which made us very happy. We also visited the local police station to hand out refreshments.
In addition to buttermilk, we had a watermelon vendor accompany us, who cut fresh watermelons and distributed them to the people. We also gave out apples.
Overall, it was a fulfilling and fantastic day for us. The act of kindness not only helped the people beat the heat, but it also refreshed the souls of many individuals by providing them with much-needed relief from the heat.
