CHF acted proactively by distributing 120 tarpaulin sheets to cancer patients residing on the footpaths of Tata Memorial Hospital in anticipation of the approaching rains due to Cyclone Biparjoy. Remarkably, it began to rain within just 30 minutes of the distribution. This timely intervention offered immediate relief to patients and their families, who swiftly used the sheets to protect themselves from the downpour.
Patients on the streets often endure harsh weather conditions, facing extreme heat and heavy rains. Many are in particularly vulnerable situations, having been returned to the footpaths before their stitches and wounds had fully healed. In addition to the tarpaulin sheets, we distributed 100 umbrellas to patients and their relatives, receiving immense gratitude in return.
The day was uplifting, filled with smiles as patients and their families expressed heartfelt thanks for the timely assistance provided by CHF.
