At Ennore, we witnessed a heartbreaking reality that made us to shape our mission to reach out to the Elderly.
An elderly couple, who had worked hard all their lives, now struggled to meet their most basic need for food. With no steady support and declining strength, daily survival became a battle.
Their story became a turning point for us.
It strengthened our resolve that no one should ever go to bed hungry or feel helpless in silence. From this emerged, the Senior Citizens’ Care Programme which has one clear commitment: no one in our community should go to bed hungry.
Guided by this commitment, the Catherine Hope Foundation (CHF) steps in with care in being both practical and personal. Through the Senior Citizens’ Care Programme, we focus on meeting the most immediate needs of the elderly individuals, especially by ensuring consistent provision for food and essential support. For many, this gesture brings not just relief but a sense of stability in their daily lives.
Beyond these essentials, we recognize that care is not only about provision, but also about presence. Our staff spend time with senior citizens, listening to their stories etched with longing, offering companionship and simply being present there. These moments of connection brings comfort and reminds them that they are not alone or forgotten.
At CHF, we believe that those who have given so much to the society deserve to be cared for with love and respect. Through this programme, we continue to work towards a community where no one goes to bed hungry, and no one is left to face life’s challenges alone.
