DIFFERENTLY-ABLED EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

Touching Lives, Gifting Hope

CHF has always been dedicated to uplifting the differently-abled community, inspired by our own experiences with Catherine, who bravely faced the challenges of a rare high-grade bone cancer. Her journey, which confined her to a wheelchair for eight months and ultimately led to the amputation of her left leg, has given us deep insight into the daily struggles faced by differently-abled individuals.

In response to these challenges, CHF launched its initiative in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. As we witnessed the community's needs grow, especially during the pandemic, we expanded our reach to Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, and Mumbai. Recognizing the hardships many families faced during this time, our team actively engaged in grocery distribution, ensuring that essential supplies reached those who were hit hardest.

Each grocery package included vital staples such as rice, pulses, oil, and spices designed to support families in need. Through these efforts, we strive to not only provide immediate relief but also foster a sense of community and resilience among the differently-abled and their families.

Beyond grocery distribution, we recognized the critical need for essential mobility devices to help differently-abled individuals navigate their daily lives with greater independence and dignity. We began providing wheelchairs, calipers, and walking sticks, each tailored to meet the specific needs of the recipients.

By supplying these devices, we aim to enhance the quality of life for differently-abled individuals, allowing them to pursue their daily activities, whether it’s going to school, attending work, or simply enjoying leisure time. Our commitment to improving mobility is part of a broader effort to empower individuals, ensuring they have the tools to navigate their environments and lead fulfilling lives.

Our initiatives extend further to the differently-abled. We have distributed school bags to their children, provided table fans for their comfort, and launched monthly Healthy Grains Programme for them. This programme includes various nutritious items such as pulses, health supplements like Manna Health Mix, chickpeas, nuts, fruits, honey, and dates, ensuring that families receive vital nutrition.

Additionally, we offer support that goes beyond physical needs. Our commitment includes assistance with education, healthcare, and sometimes even medical bills for patients in the community. By addressing these diverse challenges, CHF aims to create a more comfortable and supportive environment for differently-abled individuals and their families. With the continued support of our donors and volunteers, we will strive to provide hope and assistance, ensuring that those who need it most receive our support.
