In honor of World Cancer Day, four Cancer Warriors indulged CHF & shared their stories of courage and hardships. Tune in to listen to the brave women: Graciana (on Catherine's journey), Pandi Selvi, Rama Valli & Vani Chithra.
On February 4, 2022, in recognition of International Cancer Day, the entire CHF team visited the homes of four cancer patients to meet them personally and hear their stories of courage and resilience. This uplifting experience allowed us to connect deeply with each individual and share their journeys.
Graciana spoke movingly about the struggles faced by Catherine during her battle with cancer., highlighting her unwavering cheer despite a series of challenges. The day was fruitful and fulfilling for the CHF team, as we provided each patient with groceries for a month and a nightgown.
Pandi Selvi is a construction worker who discovered a lump in her breast in 2022. A subsequent PET scan revealed tumors in both breasts, leading to their removal. She has undergone chemotherapy and resides with her daughter's family, receiving support from her son-in-law, who works as a painter.
Rama Valli is a homeless elderly woman living on the streets. A relative prepares her meals, but she suffers from a brain tumor. Due to her age and the cancer’s spread, doctors have refused treatment, leaving her in a state of unawareness about her condition.
Vani Chithra, a mentally challenged 41-year-old woman, had breast cancer several years ago and underwent a mastectomy. Now facing the side effects of chemotherapy, she remains resilient and joyful. Her elderly father works as a security guard, while her mother begs on the streets.
Beula, a 38-year-old woman, has faced significant challenges. After discovering a lump in her breast three years ago, she began immediate treatment. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, the cancer has now spread to her brain, leading to additional surgeries. Her young son, Manoj Kumar, a sixth grader, inspires us with his dedication to caring for her, even during her periods of being bedridden. In memory of those who have lost their lives to cancer and in honor of survivors, we invite you to donate to CHF. A one-time or monthly contribution will assist many more cancer patients requiring help. Thank you for helping us continue this vital work.
