On October 19, 2024, excitement buzzed as our children from the Catherine Hope Foundation (CHF) embarked on their first-ever corporate visit. This wasn't just any day—it was Catherine's 22nd birthday, making the experience extraordinary. The destination? NETZSCH, a German company, where the children's curiosity and eagerness to explore new possibilities were met with open arms.
The day began with a warm welcome from the NETZSCH staff, who greeted each child downstairs with a rose, instantly making them feel special. Snacks of crispy potato and banana chips, along with refreshing cold drinks, added to the celebratory mood. It was a moment of awe as the children entered the corporate world for the first time, wide-eyed and full of wonder.
Inside the company, the children couldn't contain their excitement, asking thoughtful questions like, “What do I need to study to work here?” Their enthusiasm was met with detailed explanations from the NETZSCH team, who introduced them to the company’s work through a captivating video. However, what truly stole the show were the interactive games organized by the staff, designed to teach the importance of clear communication. Laughter filled the room as the children participated with boundless energy, learning valuable life skills while having fun.
Watching a video on the life of Thomas Alva Edison inspired the children to chase their dreams and never give up, no matter the odds. Sitting in the staff’s working area, the kids’ faces glowed with excitement—they were already imagining their future careers.
Another highlight? The students were then taken to NETZSCH's laboratory, where the staff introduced them to the fascinating world of research and development. They explained the science behind everyday products like toothpaste and chocolate, even detailing the precise force needed to squeeze them out of their tubes and packaging. The children were mesmerized by the behind-the-scenes knowledge and left the lab with a new appreciation for the work that goes into creating these common items.
As the visit continued, some of our students took center stage to share their stories. Lawrence beamed with pride as he talked about how CHF helped him excel academically, even securing the top rank in his class. His words earned a round of applause! Ajay expressed heartfelt gratitude for CHF’s support in pursuing his passion for music, something he never imagined he could do. Edwin, always the entertainer, had the crowd in stitches with his humorous stories about how the Change Ambassadors Programme helped him develop into a confident leader. His humor left a lasting impression, but his story of growth and responsibility struck a chord with the NETZSCH staff.
The day reached its pinnacle with a delightful cake-cutting ceremony. NETZSCH generously gave each child thoughtful gifts, including t-shirts, games, chocolates, and skipping ropes—tokens of a day they would never forget.
We cannot thank the NETZSCH team enough for making this day unforgettable. Their kindness, generosity, and genuine care have left a profound impact on our children, sparking dreams and inspiring ambition. It was a day filled with learning, joy, and lasting memories!
