On Sunday, August 28, 2022, CHF visited cancer patients on the pavements outside Tata Cancer Hospital in Mumbai and donated a wheelchair for public use.
Previously, caretakers of patients unable to walk had to deposit their Aadhar cards at the hospital to rent a wheelchair, a process they had to repeat daily, even for basic needs like bathing or using the restroom. With our wheelchair donation, any immobile cancer patient in significant need can now access transportation to the hospital or for other reasons without difficulty.
Patients and their caretakers expressed immense gratitude and joy upon receiving the wheelchair. Many personally thanked us for our thoughtfulness and appreciated our efforts.
